funnywildlife: SIGN DICAPRIO’S PETITION!Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has personally launched an AVAAZ petition requesting that Thailand ban all ivory trade. This petition is making big waves and is nearing 600,000 signatures! “As a global citizen, I urge you to ban all ivory trade in Thailand. I find it shocking that Thailand — the host of the UN summit on endangered species — is also the world’s largest unregulated ivory market and a top driver of the illegal trade. Criminals smuggle in illegally obtained African ivory, mix it in with legal Thai sources so no one can tell them apart, then get away with selling it on the open market. You can stop this by banning the Thai ivory trade now.”PETITION LINK: http://www.avaaz.org/en/save_the_elephants/?fjWUQab&pv=29

funnywildlife: Save Africa’s Elephants!! The longer scientists study elephants, the more we realise how special they are. These are creatures that live for around 65 years. Females teach younger elephants about the geography and food of their world, and how to raise young. Elephants display many of the emotions we associate with humans: for example, they love, play and empathise with each other.Image by Martin HarveySign WWF’s petition to ban the sale of all ivory in Thailand.http://e-activist.com/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=14&ea.campaign.id=18354&ea.tracking.id=surl
